I think this issue is related to the Pages plugin on the new version so not sure if it has anything to do with Pages '09 (I didn't have any slowness issue when I was previously running Pages 4.3 with EN4). 12 and below. In order to make EndNote X4 for Mac work with Word on your Mac, you need to make sure that your Word program has been upgraded to at least v.12.1.0 and up. So please check your Word to see what version it is. If it is below v. 12, you need to apply the updates for Word in Mac. Hope this helps.

It looks like a defect in the Apple Pages EndNote Plugin, so some good progress there but no details on when it will be fixed. For your information this is the latest update I got from TR support: 'Thanks for sending along your test document once again. Indeed, after downloading and unzipping the file, I was able to reproduce the slow typing behavior on my Mac. At first, I didn't see the issue in a test document I had created and was about to write you back to let you know.

Like most things, when it works no one complains. When it doesn't (as I found the other week with my document), then people sit up and take notice. Until there are issues, most people find Pages 5 good enough. I did, and may not any longer depending on whether my new documents still have issues. But 39/40 documents I created in Pages 5 work/display/save/print just fine. I don't find the interface confusing at all, just different.
Uncheck the box that reads Hide file extensions for known file types and click OK. Locate the Word Startup folder and paste these two files into this folder. If you cannot find the specified folder, your Windows preferences may be set to hide the folder. I cannot get EndNote to fully integrate with Word. I have followed the instructions presented on EndNote's website about copying a bundle into Word's application directory, after the initial installation yielded no result. Even this measure, replacing the existing bundle with the one present in EndNote's application folder, led to nothing. As I was instructed, I went to the File Locations tab in Word Preferences and re-routed the Startup line with the correct location of the bundle.
