My notes/highlights are located on my kindle as “My Clippings.txt”. I found My Clippings.txt by plugging my kindle into my computer via USB. The Formatting of “My Clippings.txt” is pretty bad, so I made a python script that seperates notes by book, and formats everything a bit more nicely. You can find it here: When you download it, just place Kindle Clippings Parser V1.py into the same directory as your My Clippings.txt. Then open your terminal app (in Mac, hold Command and hit the spacebar, then type “terminal” and select the Terminal application that comes up). Type “python./”, hit space, and then drag and drop Kindle Clippings Parser V1.py into the terminal, and hit enter.
Tap sync icon on the Kindle device or Kindle app. In minutes, you will find the sent MOBI and PDF docs under 'All Items' and 'Docs' category (Cloud).

[] So you have your bibliography manager. Did you know that in most cases you can open up a book’s page online and press a button to include it like the snap of a finger into your bibliography? No fuss, no muss. It’s a great feature offered by Flow. Then you can export your list to a word document and use each listing, as I mentioned above, as a header for your notes. Your reading might be slowed by taking notes while you read, but I found it helped reinforce the information.

Note: If you were a Kindle e-ink device owner (such as Kindle Paperwhite), here I strongly recommend you directly read. Step 1: Make sure your personal books are MOBI format. Amazon Kindle does not support EPUB books, but supports MOBI (DRM-free) and PDF formats. I personally prefer MOBI to PDF because the former is more flexible and better for reading. Books downloaded from torrent sites are often EPUB or PDF.

Mac users will find them in a folder called My Kindle Content, inside the documents folder. These are titled with non-human-friendly names like 'B002AU7MEK_EBOK.azw', so just pick anything that seems to be a big enough file for an e-book (500k-plus). Then drag these files into Calibre. Your files are now DRM-free, and you can use Calibre to convert then to any format. EPUB is the one you need for the iPad or iPhone, but you can choose pretty much anything.
I read source text digitally and while I’m doing it, my hand is moving with a mind of its own across a primitive sheet of cellulose, making notes a very human way that no technology has yet managed to improve upon. Perhaps I’m a heretic, posting such a thing on this, of all forums! So when you stone me, make sure you’re using the scrunched up refuse from my waste paper bin! (I recycle it, of course!) •.
Oddly, since I tried this over the weekend, Kindle books have become a lot more attractive to me. Previously I was buying novels and things I might read once only. Now I'm looking at cookbooks and reference books, pricier purchases that I didn't make before in case one day I stopped using the Kindle, or if Amazon decided to revoke my ownership of a book like it did, infamously, with Orwell's 1984.
If you didn't mean to remove it from your original document, don't worry — the text is now in the clipboard, so press Ctrl+ V (or ⌘+ V on a Mac) to it back into your original. Also, keep in mind that only text can be cut.
Is supposed to offer an easy to use online service for managing your Kindle notes and highlights, but I haven't found a good reason to continue using it. While I was setting it up, I noticed that this 'free' service works with a Chrome plugin which costs $2 (you can also find the myclippings.txt file and upload it).
It's delightful to have Kindle Reader on my Mac - I get color images (whereas my Kindle is just the grayscale version) and can copy & paste tidbits, etc. What are you trying to do? I, too, am a Kindle user. Have a first-generation Kindle that uses 3G and wireless and still works well. I just use two things to manage my Kindle - the Manage My Kindle web page on Amazon and the Kindle Reader for Mac. While I know that I can plug my Kindle into my Mac, I've never done it - have no idea how to manage it on the desktop: which is why I use the Manage My Kindle page - so I won't screw anything up. When you see the item you want to paste, just give it a double-click. Presto, the item’s pasted, wherever the cursor was when you invoked Paste. Elegant, easy, and fast. You’ll like it, I’m sure. (You can also use Drag and Drop to place the item wherever you wish.) Can’t tell what a picture is? But while Amazon’s Kindle apps and e-readers make it easy to create and view highlights in a given volume, they don’t offer a single, centralized location for all your highlights. There’s also no easy way to copy and paste highlighted passages, not even using on the web. That said, there is another, little-known way to view your Kindle highlights: using your online, web-based Kindle profile. Once you activate your profile, you can click a link to quickly scan your highlights across all your Kindle books, all at once. And yes, you can even copy and paste highlighted passages—, hopefully. Last but not least, you can also share your Kindle highlights and notes with other Kindle-toting bookworms but only if you want to, of course. You can view all your highlights for every Kindle book you own from your online Kindle profile.
