Hi everyone, We’re excited to announce that Skype for Business Mac is now available to public. We have a collection of great training topics that help you quickly connect with co-workers and business partners using instant messaging (IM), online meetings, calling, video conferencing, and sharing and collaboration tools. Nov 07, 2016 Note: the steps are similar for “Skype for Business on Mac”. Yep the issue happen also on another Mac device. After research on community forum, the response groups is currently not supported by the new SfB Mac client.
I know next to nothing about MAC stuff, but a client of mine has had this issue, which I have tried to Google Fu with no luck. Perhaps someone here can assist? When she tries to install Skype for Business, it gives her three options: 1) Install for all users 2) Install only for me 3) Install on a specific disk. She is chosing install only for me. The error that follows is this: You can not install Skype for Business Web App Plug in in this location.

Does Skype for Business support a central call package that can be distributed across mutliple users like a traditional phone system? I work for an NGO with roughly 100 end points. We use Office 365 E5 licensing so I understand Skype for Business 'Phone System' and the subsequent licenses are available as part of that offering, but I've recently come to understand that if we want to offer Skype for Business as a solution to our users we'd need to purchase an equal number of call packages to users. This seems absurd and a complete failing on Microsoft's part if true.
• Click the start button and navigate to the Microsoft Office 2013 Folder and select Skype for Business (Mac users: open Applications directory and click on ). • You should be signed in automatically if you're logged into. If not, enter your AD username and password at the sign-in address prompt. Note: The Office 365 Software Settings website may advise users to manually configure the internal/ external server name. Set the client to Automatic for “Sign in as:” so the server name configuration is not necessary. Add a single contact Right-click the contact you want to add and select Add to Contacts List.
Being a Windows guy, I thought for a moment that they’d stripped out many of the options. Until I realized that those options were available in the Skype for Business navigation menus instead. Which actually led me to finding some notable differences between client versions. Differences from Windows Client In keeping with the Mac’s “streamlined UI” motif, several items you’d find right away in the Windows client aren’t showing in the Mac client. At least, not at a glance. For instance, Call Forwarding. You can set Call Forwarding options in 2 places on Windows – in Skype for Business’ Options, and in the Call Forwarding dropdown along the bottom of the Windows client.
Duplication: I was logged into Skype4B on my iPhone, but answered a new message on my laptop. Sure enough, I saw a “Missed” conversation on my phone’s Chats tab. And it contained the message contents when I checked it 15 minutes later. In fact I could not duplicate the “missed message” issue no matter what. We tried two other iPhones, one 5 and two 6s in total.
If server-side conversation history is turned off in your organization, by default, the Skype for Business on Mac client will auto-accept incoming messages if the message arrives within 5 minutes of the Mac client being active. This helps ensure the sender does not get the following error: “We couldn't send this message.” After 5 minutes of any activity, the Mac client does not auto-accept the messages to ensure mobile endpoints are able to accept incoming messages as necessary. To increase/decrease the time to auto-accept on the Mac client from the default 5 minutes, follow either of these steps: • Create a configuration profile with the appropriate key and value and install it on a managed Mac. Creating and installing configuration profiles is out of the scope of these steps; see. • The payload type is com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness.
February 24, 2017 at 2:11 am Same issue here, someone just sent me a message while I was in the car with important information about a meeting later this day. Because I was driving I couldn’t open the message. When I arrived I unlocked the phone (iPhone 5s with iOS 10.2.1 and Skype for Business 6.12.0.219) and the message was gone, nowhere to be found in either the chat window, chat history or perhaps in missed conversation in my email. This is highly frustrating and I hope they are working on a solution.
Meeting invitations only display a single dial-in number Fix: Update to Outlook 2016 for Mac build 15.32 or later. Single/tabbed window experience not available By default, if your topology meets the following requirements, all conversations will be shown in a single/tabbed window.
• Update your iOS client to the latest version, and keep it updated. Even general bug fixes can have a big help. If you’ve updated your Skype for Business iOS client to the latest version, do you still see the “missing messages” bug? Please comment or email me your experience.
But overall, I think our Mac customers will enjoy this client very much. What the Mac Client Has You wouldn’t expect any Skype for Business client not to have all the basics. The Mac client is no different.

Yesterday, we reported on a Microsoft presentation in which it recently committed to launching its. Today - perhaps even sooner than some had expected - the company details of the new preview.
Even when you’re logged in with the same account, you may need to use the “Online Meeting” button to add Skype Meeting URLs/dial-in numbers to a Meeting invite. I get notified of a chat message while my phone is locked, but when I click the alert to go to the conversation the conversation is blank! This is apparently a widespread issue.

Also we have checked the Event Viewer in the SFB server, it's giving the below error. Event 2032, LS Master Replication Agent Service 'Failed to register with back-end database. Skype for Business Server 2015, Master Replicator Agent will continuously attempt to reconnect to the back-end. While this condition persists, no replication will be done.' Are the phone numbers the same for dial-in conferencing on Skype for Business on Mac as they were on Lync for Mac? The phone numbers will remain the same for Skype for Business on Mac. I am on Skype for Business on Mac, but will invite users that still have the Lync for Mac. Will they be able to join the meeting? When users join the meeting, they will join on whichever client (Lync or Skype for Business) is installed on their system. If a user does not have either product, they will be prompted to install the Skype for Business Web App.

There were supposed to be 3 Preview versions of SfB for Mac released: Preview One: Already released beginning of Q3 2016. Includes meeting features such as Meeting Calendars, Instant Messaging in meetings (goodbye Lync for Mac!), Meet Now and the ability to share desktops and content in full screen mode. Plus it’s free. Why not give it a shot? I installed Exclaimer and opened the app. It accessed our Active Directory and found Mike’s account. It asked me if I wanted to replace its contact photo with another photo. But then I noticed something – Mike’s photo in AD was listed at 64x64px. The other Skype for Business contact photos in my local cache were all 96x96px.

If not, the bug needs reporting. May 5, 2016 at 10:15 am In my organization we were unable to get any history to sync with the mac 2011 lync client unless we set the user up with a Windows profile and logged the user into Lync via windows first. Alternately the user could login to the 2010 Attendant Console. Before we resolved this we had a lot of trouble trying to figure out why some mac users had history and some did not. The history was all in OWA, but on the problem users the Conversation History folder did not have a special icon and was not syncing back to the Lync client. The root of the problem appears to be an issue with the sync between Lync 2011 and OWA.
Add and remove contacts feature is supported for users on Office 365 and Skype for Business Server 2015. It is not supported for Lync Server 2013. Is there a feature list that compares Skype for Business on Mac to Lync on Mac and other Skype for Business clients?
