I have settles on 640px x 525px, a ppi of 147.5 (which keeps me within the 11:9 aspect ratio, and file sizes of around 100 or less. Can anyone see any problems I might have with these settings. I’ve run this through on Kindle Previewer and the font and pictures look fine on Kindle and on Ipad, but the font is too large on Kindle Fire and the font and pictures are too small on Kindle Fire HD. Is this a common problem with Kindle Fire models? Cheers – Ron • says.
I would like the jpegs to fill up the entire screen on my Kindle Fire but no matter what I do they just will not. The are 1024×600 with a pretty low dpi. I tried adding width/height attributes to size them but that only made the images degrade, and they still wouldnt fill up the screen. Is there any way to do this? If I could get them the size of the screen it would look fabulous. And one more thing pertaining to this job while I got you on the line.
If you find that your PDF is in fact not locked or protected and still would not load then the fault may be with the cropping program (Briss) itself. This program is still in its early stages and still needs improving and some kinks being ironed out. Troubleshooting (2) the program presents too many groups of pages: if your original document contains many irregularly sized pages you may see many groups of pages rather than neat and uniform groups in the screenshot here. If so, you will simply need to put more manual effort into it, cropping each of these groups separately, and not worrying too much about uniformity. Sometimes it can happen that you get many dozens of groups, which would be really unlucky and you might consider looking into the prospect of obtaining a better version of your source PDF. Troubleshooting (3) impossible to make a clean crop: some documents will conflate text in the header (which you want to exclude) with chapter headers (which you want to include). You have 2 options in this case; the first is to separate all such pages (i.e.beginning of chapters) out of your document using a program such as PDFSam, and create two PDF files that you crop separately and then recombine using PDFSam again.
Amazon has been pretty cool about replacing bricked Fires, but, proceed at your own risk.

Learn the device you want to create the book for. The Kindle Fire HD, for example is 1280×800 pixel resolution at 216 ppi, or 6.06″ x 3.55″. Older Kindles are 600 x 800 pixel resolution at 167 ppi.
Kindle Fire may not be able to compete with some of the bigger tablets but it still has a lot to offer. It’s a great eReader that can be read at night without bothering anyone near you, maintains access to your email, documents, and allows you to download video, music, and games for on the go enjoyment. Whether you use it for business or pleasure, it’s very useful for all kinds of things. Here are just a few of the features I find most useful about the Fire that hopefully you find helpful as well!
(But if you decide to go to print you will have to redo the entire cover at 300 dpi and re-purchase the higher resolution image.) This is why I ALWAYS design at 6 x 9 inch at 300 dpi — this way, I am prepared for both ebook AND print. The image may cost a few dollars more, but I save myself a lot of time and aggravation in the future.

Method 2: Resize images through e-mail All Mac computers have the E-mail app that allows its users to change the size of images before sending them. This app provides probably one of the fastest ways to resize images since all you have to do is drop the photo into the E-mail app, and select which picture size you want to use. Small, Medium or Large sizes are available, but in order to gain access to the resized image, you first need to send it. The app won't allow you to drag the resized photo from drafts, which means that E-mail app can't be easily used for resizing photos you want to upload on your blog or a social media account.
